As a student of higher education in Finland, why not take advantage of student restaurant meals? They bring routine to a student’s day and allow you to have a relaxing break in the company of other students. When put together in accordance with the plate model, a student meal is a varied, healthy meal covering about a third of daily energy needs.

Did you know that student restaurant meals are planned and prepared to comply with the meal recommendations? The latest Finnish meal recommendations for higher education students were published on 1 January 2022, and take full account of the principles of sustainable development.

Kela pays student restaurants a meal subsidy of €2.55 per meal which is deducted from the price of the meal paid by the student. To find your nearest student restaurant serving moderately priced meals, check out Kela´s student restaurant search.
